Rangers have confirmed that striker Youssef Chermiti will spend a significant period on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

The 22-year-old forward was forced off during the first half of Rangers' match against Hibernian on Sunday after colliding with the pitchside advertising boards at Ibrox.

Chermiti was later seen leaving the stadium wearing a protective boot and knee brace, raising concerns about the severity of the injury.

Following further medical assessment, Rangers confirmed that the striker had suffered an ACL injury and will be unavailable for a significant period.

In a statement, the club said:

“Following assessment, striker Youssef Chermiti suffered an ACL injury in Sunday’s match with Hibernian. Youssef will be out of action for a significant period of time.

“Everyone at Rangers is with him as he begins his recovery.”
