Rangers and Shooting Stars Choose Abeokuta Stadium for CAF Home Matches

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Rangers International and Shooting Stars have both selected the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta as their home venue for their upcoming CAF inter-club campaigns.

The two Nigerian clubs will use the Ogun State venue for their continental fixtures after initially considering the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne.

Rangers had previously reached an agreement with Remo Stars to play their home matches at the Ikenne-based stadium. However, after further discussions with their technical team, led by head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, the Flying Antelopes decided to move their continental games to Abeokuta.

Shooting Stars had also initially selected the Remo Stars Sports Complex as their home ground for their CAF Confederation Cup campaign before opting for the MKO Abiola Sports Complex.

Rangers will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League, where they have been drawn against AS Sobemap of Benin Republic in the first preliminary round.

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup and face Tunisia's CS Sfaxien in the first preliminary round.
