Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal secured his 1069th career victory, as reported by OptaAce.

Nadal competed against Dominik Thiem in the ATP tournament in Brisbane and claimed a 2-0 victory (7-5, 6-1). This triumph marked Nadal's 1069th career victory, surpassing Ivan Lendl in total victories and placing him fourth in the Open Era. Ahead of him are only Jimmy Connors (1274), Roger Federer (1251), and Novak Djokovic (1089).

Nadal, a winner of 22 Grand Slam titles, holder of a career Grand Slam, a two-time Olympic champion, and a multiple-time winner of Masters series tournaments, has been the year-end world No. 1 five times (2008, 2010, 2013, 2017, 2019). Throughout his career, the tennis player has received numerous awards and honors, including the title of "Best Athlete of 2010."

Rafael Nadal is unique in being naturally right-handed but plays tennis with his left hand. This decision was influenced by his uncle and longtime coach, Toni Nadal, when Rafael was 12 years old, aiming to capitalize on the advantage a left-handed player has against right-handed opponents.
