Legendary Rafael Nadal is set to participate in the Monte-Carlo Masters in April, announced the tournament organizers. The Spaniard is listed in the entry list for the tournament.

Nadal, with 22 Grand Slam titles to his name, dropped to 652nd place in the ATP rankings this week and used his protected ninth-place ranking to enter the main draw of the Monte-Carlo tournament, the first Masters 1000 event on clay courts in the 2024 season.

Last week, the 37-year-old Spaniard withdrew from the Indian Wells Masters. Earlier, Nadal also opted out of the Australian Open.

The Spaniard has won the tournament 11 times in his career, but since his last victory in 2018, he has lost in the semifinals in 2019, the quarterfinals in 2021, and missed the tournaments in 2020, 2022, and 2023.
