Star forward Allan Saint-Maximin has officially announced the termination of his contract with Mexican club América just six months after joining the team.
Details: The driving force behind this drastic decision was a series of systematic racist incidents, with the footballer's children as the main targets. The Frenchman emphasized that while he could endure pressure and abuse directed at himself, he would never tolerate attacks on his family.
“The problem is not the color of the skin, but the color of the thoughts. The fact that they attack me is not an issue. I grew up learning how to respond to any kind of attack: hidden, veiled, or direct,” Saint-Maximin declared in his statement.
The forward made it clear that neither physical nor verbal aggression against him could break him, but the moment the abuse crossed the line and targeted his children, it became a point of no return.
At this moment, Club América and the Mexican league have yet to officially comment on the details of the contract termination.
For the record: James Rodríguez has left Mexican side León.
