Racing Ready to Sell Either Nardoni or Di Césare in Upcoming Transfer Window

Racing Club is preparing for a key decision that could reshape its squad and financial outlook. According to TyC Sports, the board led by Diego Milito has resolved to sell one of its two most sought-after players: midfielder Juan Ignacio Nardoni or center-back Marco Di Césare, both central to coach Gustavo Costas’ system and currently attracting interest from abroad.
The club's financial constraints make at least one major sale inevitable in 2025. While Nardoni has already been linked to international clubs —with Brazil’s Santos reportedly inquiring earlier this year— it’s Di Césare who appears closest to a move. The 23-year-old defender, a Copa Sudamericana and Recopa champion, has a contract through December 2027 and a $20 million release clause.
Bologna, fresh off winning the Coppa Italia, has shown the strongest interest. In April, the Italian club’s sporting director traveled to Argentina to watch Di Césare in action. Though no formal talks have begun, the impression left was overwhelmingly positive.
Racing understands the need to balance its books, and the upcoming winter window will be a pivotal moment. Offers from Europe and beyond will be evaluated carefully, with Di Césare currently the likeliest to depart.
Having already played over 50 first-team matches and shown maturity beyond his years, Di Césare seems poised for the next step. Unless a last-minute bid emerges for Nardoni, Racing will likely say goodbye to its defensive stalwart.
