Racing Club made headlines once again in South America as the reigning Copa Sudamericana champions secured a dominant 3-0 win over Fortaleza in their Copa Libertadores group stage opener on Tuesday. The victory, delivered in Fortaleza’s own Castelão stadium, marked Racing’s sixth official win on Brazilian soil in Conmebol competitions, earning them a place among the top five most successful foreign clubs in the country, according to El Gráfico.

Goals from Maximiliano Salas, Agustín Almendra and Santiago Sosa sealed the victory, capping off a brilliant performance by the Argentine side. With this result, Racing matched the records of Paraguayan clubs Olimpia and Cerro Porteño, and now trails only Peñarol (7), Nacional (8), River Plate (9) and Boca Juniors (10), who top the list with the most wins in Brazil.

Trailing behind with five victories are clubs such as Barcelona SC (Ecuador), Independiente, Argentinos Juniors, and Defensa y Justicia. Also featured on the list with four wins are Colo Colo, Atlético Nacional, Libertad, Independiente del Valle, Estudiantes and Liga de Quito.
