Quarterfinal Fixtures Confirmed for Argentina's 2025 Apertura Tournament

The Argentine Football League has officially confirmed the quarterfinal schedule for the 2025 Torneo Apertura, with matches set to be played from Sunday, May 18 to Tuesday, May 20. As reported by ESPN, the calendar was arranged to accommodate clubs competing in international tournaments and to avoid conflicts with legislative elections taking place in Buenos Aires on Sunday.
The round will begin with Rosario Central hosting Huracán at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Estadio Gigante de Arroyito. On Monday, there will be two games: Argentinos Juniors vs. San Lorenzo kicks off at 7:00 p.m. in La Paternal, followed by a heated clash between Boca Juniors and Independiente at 9:30 p.m. in La Bombonera.
On Tuesday, River Plate will face Platense at 8:30 p.m. in El Monumental, rounding out the quarterfinals. River will be without Gonzalo Montiel due to injury, while Platense hopes to pull off a surprise.
All quarterfinals will be single-leg fixtures. If the score is level after 90 minutes, the match will go straight to a penalty shootout. The winners will move on to the semifinals, with those matchups and dates to be announced after the conclusion of the current round.
