Qatar wants Modric in their league: what will Real say?

Qatar is actively interested in acquiring Real Madrid's midfielder Luka Modric, who, despite his age, still plans to finish his career in Madrid. Modric, by his own admission, dreams of playing in the 2026 World Cup for the Croatian national team and ending his career at the club that gave him everything — Real Madrid.

Currently, there have been no official negotiations between Real Madrid and Modric regarding a contract extension, reminiscent of last season's situation when his contract was extended by another year. Modric's performance on the pitch continues to affirm his importance to the club.

Real Madrid's coach Carlo Ancelotti often cites Modric as a model of professionalism, and his role in the team is steadily increasing. This season, Modric has already played 47 matches for Real, matching his previous year's tally, while he also continues to perform for the Croatian national team.

While Qatar aims to elevate their league's profile and attract major players, as seen in Saudi Arabia, Modric received an offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli in 2023, where he was offered 80 million euros for two seasons. However, he chose to stay in Madrid, where he feels comfortable and at home.
