Pyramids FC Goalkeeper Blasts EFA Appeals Committee Over Zamalek–Al Ahly Ruling

Sherif Ekramy has launched a scathing attack on the Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) appeals committee, accusing it of manipulating justice and fostering a dangerous culture of selective truth following its final decision in the controversial Zamalek vs Al Ahly match fallout.

The long-delayed showdown from the opening round of the title group was thrown into chaos after Al Ahly failed to appear, prompting calls for a 6-point deduction.

However, on Thursday, the EFA’s appeals committee rejected the appeals filed by Zamalek, Al Ahly, and Pyramids, declaring the Premier League’s initial ruling as final and non-negotiable.

Widespread Rejection & Legal Action

• Zamalek has vowed to escalate the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), arguing Al Ahly’s no-show constitutes full withdrawal under league rules.
• Al Ahly referred the decision to its legal department for review.

Ekramy’s Explosive Statement

In a fiery post on X (formerly Twitter), Ekramy did not mince words:

“This decision doesn’t need an expert to spot its flaws. The loopholes are obvious. The scene is clear — there’s no room for sugarcoating.”

He condemned what he called “conscious and deliberate fraud”, accusing unnamed actors of defending injustice when it aligns with their interests:

“When people justify injustice because it benefits them, they expose the contradiction between their values and their actions. Justification never erases the truth. Sometimes, it exposes it even more.”

He further criticized efforts to shift focus from the decision’s flaws to discrediting those who challenge it:

“Suddenly the problem isn’t the decision — it’s those who oppose it.”

Ekramy closed with a sharp reflection:

“I fully respect those who choose conscience over loyalty. Truth isn’t hidden because people forget it — it’s hidden because they’re afraid to pay the price.”
