The club, which plays in Cameroon’s top flight, was knocked out of the competition by Dauphine Academy, a team competing in Cameroon’s regional league.

PWD Bamenda’s run in the 2026 Cameroon Cup has come to an end. The Cameroonian Elite One side were knocked out in the quarter-finals on Saturday 8 August.

Favourites ahead of kick-off in their quarter-final against Dauphine Academy, a regional league side, PWD Bamenda were unable to live up to expectations.

The Cameroonian professional league side were initially held to a draw at the end of normal time. Despite numerous attempts throughout the match, no goals were scored.

PWD Bamenda and Dauphine Academy had to be decided by a penalty shoot-out. However, this proved to be the undoing of the Elite One side.

PWD Bamenda failed to convert all their penalty kicks. Dauphine Academy, however, fared better. The Regional League side scored four penalties, compared to three for PWD Bamenda.

Thanks to this victory, Dauphine Academy knocked Bamenda out of the competition and progressed to the semi-finals.
