FIFA has announced the nominees for the Puskas Award in 2023.
Three footballers are in contention for the title of the best goal in 2023: Brighton's Julio Ensiso, Botafogo's Guilherme Madruga, and Sporting's Nuno Santos.
To recap, FIFA has revealed three contenders for the title of the best male football player and three in the women's category.
The best football players of 2023 are determined by national team head coaches, captains, journalists, and fans who vote on the FIFA website. Player performances from December 19, 2022, to August 20, 2023, are taken into account, excluding the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The winner will be announced at the ceremony on January 15, 2024, in London.
