Pulisic’s Milan Future in Doubt Despite Stellar Season
Christian Pulisic has been one of AC Milan’s few bright spots in an otherwise bleak campaign, yet his long-term future at San Siro is now in question. According to Calciomercato and Sky Italia, contract extension talks—once close to completion—have stalled, with the American requesting time to assess the club’s sporting direction.
Pulisic has tallied 17 goals and 12 assists in 49 appearances, making him Milan’s top scorer this season. Despite his performances, Milan sits ninth in Serie A, out of contention for European competitions and reeling from early exits in both the Champions League playoff round and Coppa Italia final.
Club CEO Giorgio Furlani had proposed a deal extending through 2029 with an increased salary of $5.6 million annually. However, Pulisic’s representatives have since paused negotiations, citing concerns over managerial stability and the club’s long-term ambitions. Journalist Matteo Moretto reports that his agent has already offered the player to clubs both in Italy and abroad.
While Pulisic’s current deal runs through 2027 with an option for 2028, doubts over Milan’s sporting project—and the player’s desire to compete at the highest level—could push him toward an unexpected exit.
