Pulido Frozen Out at Chivas After Reported Disciplinary Incident Pulido Frozen Out at Chivas After Reported Disciplinary Incident

Alan Pulido’s return to Chivas has taken a sour turn. According to Fútbol Total, the Mexican forward was dropped from the squad due to a serious disciplinary issue, allegedly arriving at a training session in an inappropriate condition. Head coach Gerardo Espinoza made the call to bench him ahead of the recent match against Cruz Azul, and his absence could extend further.

Pulido rejoined Chivas with high expectations for the Clausura 2025 and the Concacaf Champions Cup. The club paid $1.6 million for his return and signed him through December, with an option for another year. However, his second stint hasn’t gone as planned — just two goals in nine appearances and only 431 minutes on the pitch.

According to RÉCORD, Pulido’s behavior reminded many of past disciplinary cases, with sources suggesting he may have arrived to training in a state similar to that of Carlos ‘Gullit’ Peña during his controversial episodes. This reportedly angered Espinoza, who chose to sideline the veteran striker for the foreseeable future.

Originally expected to form a dangerous attacking duo with Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández, Pulido has failed to meet expectations. His lack of impact and now off-field troubles raise questions about his future at the club.
