On Tuesday, February 20, the UEFA Champions League round of 16 continued with PSV hosting Borussia Dortmund at their home ground.

From the opening minutes, both teams adopted a cautious approach, avoiding taking too many risks in attack. Borussia Dortmund managed to create a few chances on goal, but these moments didn't pose significant danger. PSV attempted to respond, but the Dutch team struggled to create clear opportunities. However, amidst such evenly matched play, Dortmund found their moment, and in the 24th minute, Malen put them ahead. The first half ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of Dortmund.

After the break, PSV found their moment and equalized with a goal. In the 56th minute, the referee awarded a penalty to PSV, which was converted by the 33-year-old Luuk de Jong. Overall, in the second half, the Dutch team was more active in attack, but they couldn't find another opportunity to score the winning goal. Dortmund, on the other hand, also failed to create clear chances.

The first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout stage between PSV and Borussia Dortmund ended in a predictable 1-1 draw. Everything will be decided on March 13 at the Signal Iduna Park.
