On the eve of Sunday's crucial Premier League clash, Liverpool have been hit by serious personnel problems in attack. Two key forwards are at risk of missing the upcoming game against Manchester City.

Details: Neither Alexander Isak nor Cody Gakpo was spotted at the team's full training session at the training centre on Thursday. Both players returned early from international duty due to injuries: the Swedish forward is suffering from a thigh problem, while the Dutch winger has sustained an ankle injury.

Their absence would be a significant blow for the Merseyside club, especially considering that the pair have already contributed eight goal involvements between them in the current league campaign and provide much-needed variety in attack. The coaching staff are continuing to assess their condition, but the forwards' participation in the upcoming match remains highly doubtful.

Liverpool and Manchester City will face each other on Sunday, October 11. After five rounds of the league campaign, City top the table with 15 points, while Liverpool sit sixth on 9 points.
