Prize Money for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Revealed


The new edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations kicks off on July 5, and the prize money for the competition has now been confirmed.
Details: According to UNPLAYABLE, the tournament winner will receive one million dollars. The runner-up will earn $500,000. The team finishing third will be awarded $350,000, while fourth place will take home $300,000.
Reaching the quarterfinals will net a team $200,000. Finishing third in the group stage brings $150,000, and fourth place earns $125,000.
The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will kick off on Saturday, July 5, with the opening match between Morocco and Zambia, scheduled for 22:00 CET.
This marks the second consecutive time Morocco is hosting the tournament, having also staged the previous edition two years ago. The current titleholders are South Africa.
Reminder: The South African Football Association (SAFA) has officially responded to the recent boycott by the players of the South African women's national team, Banyana Banyana, over delayed payments.
