In the 22nd round of the English Premier League, Manchester City and Tottenham played their matches simultaneously. The Citizens hosted Burnley, while Brentford visited Spurs.

Manchester City - Burnley - 3:1

City justified their favorite status from the opening minutes of the match. Julian Alvarez scored a brace in the first half within six minutes, and the Blues went into halftime with a comfortable two-goal lead. In the first minute of the second half, Rodri extended the lead, settling any doubts about the match's outcome.

The remaining time became a formality. The visitors could only respond with a prestige goal from Al-Dakhil.

Pep Guardiola's team gathered 46 points and reclaimed the second position, while Burnley remained in the 19th place.

Tottenham - Brentford - 3:2

The Spurs had two drastically different halves. In the first half, the hosts struggled to create opportunities in attack. On the 15th minute, Mope put Brentford ahead, and the teams went to the locker room with Brentford holding a minimal lead.

But in the second half, Postecoglou's team transformed. A relentless attack on the visitors' goal resulted in three goals within eight minutes. Udohji, Johnson, and Richarlison each found the net.

However, a few minutes later, Udohji made a costly mistake near his penalty area, which Tony capitalized on, reigniting the intrigue. No further goals graced this captivating match.

With 43 points, Tottenham displaced Aston Villa from the fourth position. Brentford resides in the 15th position in the table.
