The 16th matchday of the English Premier League commenced with the Crystal Palace versus Liverpool match.

In the first half both teams were rather cautious, scarcely creating dangerous moments. There was a notable attempt by Lerma, but Alisson was steadfast in front of the goal.

The start of the second half didn't seem ominous for Liverpool, but the home team was awarded a penalty about 10 minutes into the second half. Quansah attempted to clear the ball but made contact with Jean-Philippe Mateta. Mateta himself took the penalty, cleverly dispatching the ball to different corners from where Alisson anticipated.

In the 75th minute the hosts faced a setback when Jordan Ayew received his second yellow card for disrupting an attack. The outcome didn't take long to unfold: the Merseyside team responded swiftly, leveling the match instantly with a goal from Salah.

It's worth noting that this goal marked a milestone for the Egyptian, being his 150th in the English Premier League.

In additional time, Liverpool showed resilience and snatched the victory: Harvey Elliott struck beautifully from outside the penalty area past Johnston.

On the 110th minute, Palace had a chance to salvage the match, yet Alisson pulled off a superb save after Andersen's strike.

Liverpool has taken the lead in the Premier League standings, surpassing Arsenal by just one point. However, the Gunners will play their 16th-round match today at 18:30 Central European Time.
