Premier League legend to become new Wales head coach

Following the dismissal of Rob Page, the Welsh national team will not remain without a head coach for long.

According to the BBC, the Football Association of Wales has already approved the new head coach. It will be Welsh legend and Premier League icon Craig Bellamy.

This will be Bellamy's first experience as a head coach. Previously, the former striker worked on the coaching staff of Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht and Burnley.

As a player, Bellamy earned 78 caps and scored 19 goals for the Welsh national team. At the club level, he played for Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham, Celtic, Blackburn, Cardiff City, Norwich, and Coventry. In 294 Premier League matches, he scored 80 goals.

In September, the Welsh national team will start in League B of the UEFA Nations League, where their group opponents will be Turkey, Iceland, and Montenegro.
