The Premier League continues to witness an intense race, not only for the championship title but also in the battle for the Golden Boot. While the English champion for the 2024/25 season might be decided early, the league’s top scorer will only be known on the final matchday.

The Golden Boot is awarded to the player who scores the most goals in the league.

As in previous years, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah remain the main contenders. However, their dominance is not absolute, with other strikers proving to be worthy challengers.

The Dailysports team presents the top 10 contenders as of February 17, 2025.

  • 🥇 1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 23 goals

The heart and soul of Liverpool continues to amaze with his consistency, now in his eighth season at Anfield. Reds fans can always count on Salah to step up when the team is struggling. While his unresolved contract situation—set to expire at the end of the season—raises questions, it has yet to affect his goal-scoring form.

  • 🥈 2. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – 19 goals

The Norwegian striker remains one of the league's top goal scorers despite City's struggles this season. His numbers could be even higher with better service from midfield. However, even with these challenges, Haaland is still a strong contender for the Golden Boot.

  • 🥉3. Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) – 18 goals

Nottingham Forest has been the biggest surprise of the season, and Chris Wood is leading their charge. The 33-year-old forward had never scored more than 14 goals in a single Premier League campaign but has already surpassed that mark before the season’s midway point.

  • ⭐ 4. Alexander Isak (Newcastle) – 17 goals

The Swedish forward has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season. His incredible goal-scoring run since winter has turned Newcastle from mid-table strugglers into serious Champions League contenders. Reports suggest top European clubs are willing to pay up to €150 million for him.

  • 🔥 5. Cole Palmer (Chelsea) – 14 goals

With every goal, the decision to let Palmer leave Manchester City for Chelsea seems more questionable. The young English forward has already matched 50% of his previous season's tally by the 15th round. While Chelsea's attack has been inconsistent, Palmer’s composure makes him a serious Golden Boot contender.

  • 🌟5. Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) – 14 goals

The 25-year-old Cameroonian striker is enjoying the best season of his career. He had never scored more than 9 goals in a Premier League campaign, yet by mid-season, he had already netted 11, making him a real threat in the Golden Boot race.

  • ⚡7. Matheus Cunha (Wolves) – 12 goals

Wolves are enduring a rough season, with relegation a real possibility. However, Matheus Cunha has been a bright spot. He leads the league in goals scored from outside the box and has already attracted interest from several clubs ahead of the next transfer window.

  • 🎯8. Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth) – 11 goals
  • 🎯8. Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace) – 11 goals
  • 🎯8. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) – 11 goals
