The future of Gianluigi Donnarumma at Paris Saint-Germain has come into question amid ongoing contract talks between the goalkeeper and the club. According to L'Équipe, the parties have yet to reach an agreement on the financial terms of a new deal.
The Italian shot-stopper, whose current contract expires in the summer of 2026, is keen to maintain his current salary, especially after a stellar season in which he helped PSG secure a historic Champions League triumph.
However, in Paris, a different proposal is on the table: a significant portion of Donnarumma’s wages would depend on the number of matches played and several other factors. This approach could substantially reduce his guaranteed earnings and signals the club’s intent to intensify competition for the starting spot in goal.
The situation has already attracted interest from three Premier League clubs—Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City—as well as several Italian sides, including Juventus and Inter. Despite the tense negotiations, Donnarumma still prioritises extending his contract with PSG.
