London giants Arsenal and Birmingham-based Aston Villa have gained a significant advantage over Newcastle in the race to sign Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa from German club RB Leipzig.

Details: According to football insider Ekrem Konur, both clubs can guarantee the 21-year-old forward regular Champions League football, giving them a clear edge over Newcastle's proposal. However, a potential move in the January transfer window will depend directly on the German side's success in European competition.

Leipzig's hierarchy are under no pressure to sell one of their key assets: the Scandinavian's long-term contract runs until the summer of 2029. The possibility of a mid-season departure will depend entirely on how far the club advances in the Champions League — as long as the German outfit remains in the competition, a parting of ways with the winger is considered unlikely.

It is worth noting that the Norwegian football academy graduate moved to the German league from Belgian side Club Brugge in the summer of 2024 and quickly established himself as one of the Bundesliga's most exciting young dribblers. On the international stage, Nusa has also cemented his status as a key starter for Norway, regularly featuring in the national team's starting XI.
