The Premier League club Bournemouth has completed its first summer transfer.
Bournemouth officially announced the signing of 21-year-old goalkeeper Alex Paulsen from the New Zealand club Wellington Phoenix, which competes in the Australian A-League.
Paulsen has signed a contract with Bournemouth until the summer of 2027. Bournemouth paid Wellington Phoenix 2 million pounds plus bonuses for his transfer.
Paulsen was one of the best goalkeepers in the recently concluded A-League season. His team reached the semifinals of the A-League playoffs, and Paulsen played 29 matches, conceding 28 goals.
This 21-year-old footballer becomes the first New Zealand goalkeeper in Premier League history and only the seventh player from his country to feature in the league.
