Premier League club admit transfer window didn't go according to plan
The summer transfer window is already coming to an end. Some clubs are already starting to summarise its results and not all of them have managed to make their plans a reality.
Thus, Wolverhampton head coach Gary O'Neill admitted that the transfer window at Wolves after losing key players Max Kilman and Pedro Neto did not go according to plan:
‘As we went along, we missed out on people who we thought could have helped us for a variety of reasons - sometimes financial, sometimes because they left before we were ready for them. We weren't able to do some of the things we had hoped to do and the window ended up being different for us.
I thought the group needed outside help but it didn't go the way we planned, so the onus is on me to make sure we are still able to compete,’ O'Neill is quoted by Sky Sports as saying.
