Young forward Mathys Tel has joined Tottenham on loan. Earlier reports suggested that he had refused the move, but Ange Postecoglou has dismissed these claims.

Details: Speaking at a press conference ahead of Tottenham’s next match, the Spurs head coach clarified that Tel never turned down the transfer. He also revealed that he had a direct conversation with the player.

Quote: “Mathys Tel didn’t reject anything—he’s 19 years old, and he just wanted to be comfortable with his decision. I had a chat with him, and it was purely about football, about finding a great place for him here. He had other options… and he chose us,” Postecoglou stated.

Earlier reports indicated that Bayern Munich will receive a €10 million loan fee for Tel’s move. Additionally, Tottenham will cover his wages for the five-month spell, amounting to approximately €2 million.

Reminder. It was previously reported that, in addition to Chelsea and Tottenham, several other clubs were interested in the forward, including Arsenal and Manchester United.
