Piers Morgan Hails Kanu’s Iconic Hat-Trick Against Chelsea
Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan has praised Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu for his famous hat-trick against Chelsea in 1999. Kanu, who joined Arsenal from Inter Milan for £4.5 million, became a key figure under Arsene Wenger, winning two Premier League titles and two FA Cups, and helping the club complete an unbeaten league season.
Arsenal’s official X account recently shared a video of the comeback, captioned, “A Kanu masterclass helped us complete a stunning comeback at Stamford Bridge 😍”. Morgan responded, calling it the “Greatest hat-trick I’ve ever seen live… losing 2-0 with 15 minutes left, then Kanu went berserk in torrential rain. The last goal was insane…”.
Kanu came on as a second-half substitute with Arsenal trailing 2-0 and scored three goals in 15 minutes, securing a dramatic 3-2 victory and one of the Premier League’s most memorable comebacks.
