The former world number four tennis player, Belinda Bencic (Switzerland, WTA 92), has given birth to a daughter.
Bencic shared the news on her social media accounts, revealing that they named the baby girl Bella. She was born on April 23, 2024.
The father of the child is Bencic's fitness coach. The 27-year-old Bencic announced her pregnancy in November 2023.
Bencic has been absent from the Tour since September 2023 when she suffered a defeat in the opening match of the San Diego tournament against Alexandra Sasnovich.
Bencic is the Olympic champion of 2020 in Tokyo. She also boasts 8 WTA titles and reached the semifinals of the US Open in 2019.
