In February 2023, Kevin Durant joined the Phoenix Suns, and now the team's owner is eager to secure a contract extension with the star player.
Details: According to ESPN, team owner Mat Ishbia believes Durant is happy with the Suns, and the organization is thrilled to have such a player on their roster. They are hopeful that Durant will agree to an extension and remain with the team for the long term.
Quote: "He’s had an incredible start to the season—one of the MVP leaders. We expect Kevin to sign an extension and stay with us for a long time. We hope he finishes his career here in Phoenix. We couldn’t sign a two-year extension last summer due to NBA rules, so we decided to revisit it after the season," stated Ishbia.
This season, Durant has played nine games, averaging 27.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
Reminder: Los Angeles Clippers player James Harden set a new milestone in the game against Utah. Harden now ranks second in NBA history for most three-pointers made.
