The NBA imposed a $100,000 fine on Philadelphia for violating injury reporting rules regarding player injuries. This came after Joel Embiid missed 29 games due to a meniscus injury and only returned to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

"The Sixers failed to accurately disclose Joel Embiid's availability status for the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 2. The initial injury report stated that Embiid would not play, but he later participated in the game. The fine takes into account the Sixers' previous history of fines for violating injury reporting rules," - the NBA statement said.

Earlier, the club was fined $75,000 for not listing Embiid as injured before the game against the Denver Nuggets. Embiid himself requested not to be included in the injury report, as he wanted to play. Currently, the Sixers continue to fight for a playoff spot and are in the eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with five games left in the regular season.
