Pedro Gonçalves is no longer head coach of Young Africans

The Portuguese manager was sacked on Wednesday despite his team’s victory over KMC.

Pedro Gonçalves is leaving his post six months after his appointment. According to reports, the Portuguese manager was due to be sacked following the 2-2 draw in the derby against Simba SC. However, the club had decided to give him one last chance.

Nevertheless, Young Africans’ victory over KMC on 6 May was not enough to prevent Gonçalves’ dismissal. The club’s management decided to part ways with their manager immediately after the victory.

Pedro Gonçalves leaves Young Africans at the top of the Tanzanian league with 51 points. Under his leadership, the club has scored 47 goals and conceded just 5 in 21 Tanzanian Premier League matches this season.
