According to Opta, he became the youngest defender ever to register an assist in a Champions League match. Cubarsí is currently 18 years and 77 days old, surpassing the previous record held by Vincent Kompany, who was 18 years and 193 days old at the time.
In the same match, Lamine Yamal also set a record, becoming the first player under 18 to feature in 20 Champions League games. Yamal made his debut in the tournament last season. In his 20 appearances, he has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists.
