Patrick Vieira unveils his first squad: 29 Lions of Teranga called up to kick off the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
As expected, Patrick Vieira revealed on Friday 18 September the names of the players who will represent Senegal in the first two rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The French manager has selected 29 players to begin the qualifying campaign. Patrick Vieira’s squad includes newcomers, some returning players and some notable absences. It comprises four goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders and ten forwards. Edouard Mendy, who recently announced his retirement from international football, is naturally not on Patrick Vieira’s list.
