Patrick Kane is ready to make his debut for his new team
Legendary hockey player Patrick Kane is ready to make his debut for his new team, the Detroit Red Wings, as reported by the NHL.
The American has not played since May 1st, and in June, he underwent surgery on his right thigh. Patrick Kane will debut for the Detroit Red Wings overnight from Thursday to Friday, December 8th, against the San Jose Sharks at the Little Caesars Arena. The game will start at 1:00 AM Central European Time.
The head coach of Detroit stated that it will be interesting. They will be looking for his position so that he can showcase good hockey. The coaches will wisely distribute the player's ice time.
It is reasonable to recall that Patrick Kane signed a contract with Detroit on November 28th. In his new team, he will reunite with former Chicago teammate Alex DeBrincat, who spent his first five NHL seasons with the Blackhawks. They predominantly played on the same line.
From the Red Wings' perspective, this deal carries no risks. Detroit is one of the few NHL teams with available cap space. Kane's salary will be $2.75 million per year.
The idea behind this signing is to provide the team with additional strength in the attack and assistance in power play situations.
