Patrice Motsepe has arrived in Senegal

The president of the Confederation of African Football has officially begun his visit to Dakar.

Patrice Motsepe is currently in Senegal in an attempt to defuse the crisis sparked by the decision of the governing body’s Appeals Committee. This committee surprised the world on 17 March by deciding to strip Senegal of the African championship title and award it to Morocco.

Since then, a standoff has ensued, punctuated by a legal battle. It is in an attempt to ease the tension that the CAF President is in Dakar. On his arrival, Patrice Motsepe was welcomed by the President of the Senegalese Football Federation, Abdoulaye Fall. During this visit, the CAF President will meet with the Senegalese authorities.
