Pathé Mboup eyes Senegal call-up: ‘The national team is one of my goals’
The Brest striker also makes no secret of his admiration for Sadio Mané, a leading figure in Senegalese football and a source of inspiration for many young players.
Having scored two goals and provided one assist for Brest in Ligue 1 this season, Pathé Mboup hopes to take his career to the next level by joining the Lions of Teranga. In an interview with Wiwsport, the 22-year-old Senegalese striker made his goal clear: to join the national team. The call-ups of players competing in the French league further fuel his motivation to keep working hard.
“The national team is one of my goals. When I see players from Ligue 1 being called up, it makes me even more determined to work harder to earn a place in the squad. It’s one of my goals: to make the national team this year.
“ I’m Senegalese, so naturally I want to represent my country and wear the national shirt. I can’t wait to do it. I want to be a great player for the national team, yes, to be like Sadio Mané. Everyone knows him and would love to be like him.”
