Paradoxical: Man United named the most profitable football club in the world
Despite reporting a net loss of £113.2 million for the 2023/2024 season, Manchester United's profitability surpasses all setbacks, keeping the club at the top of the most profitable football organizations worldwide.
Details: Forbes recently compiled a list of the 20 most profitable sports teams globally. Only three football clubs made the cut, all from England.
Manchester United claimed the top spot among football clubs with an operating income of $187 million. Tottenham ranked second with $161 million, and Manchester City followed in third with $148 million.
However, football clubs lag behind in the overall rankings. Manchester United is in 7th place, Tottenham closes the top 10, and Manchester City ranks 15th. The Dallas Cowboys of the NFL lead the list with an astounding operating income of $564 million.
Reminder: Despite their loss, Manchester United reported revenue of £661.8 million. Nonetheless, the club continues implementing "shock therapy" measures to cut expenses.
