Pape Thiaw’s future with Senegal will be discussed this Saturday in Dakar
An emergency meeting of the Executive Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation is scheduled this 11 July and will decide the fate of the Senegalese manager.
Pape Thiaw’s future as head coach of the Senegal national team is uncertain. The Lions of Teranga’s disappointing exit in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup is said to have weakened Thiaw’s position.
This is said to have prompted the leaders of the Senegalese Football Federation to consider replacing him. Consequently, an emergency meeting of the governing body’s Executive Committee is scheduled for this Saturday, 11 July, to review Senegal’s participation in the 2026 World Cup.
One of the issues to be discussed will be the future of head coach Pape Thiaw. Since the Lions of Teranga were knocked out of the World Cup, several names have been mentioned as potential successors to Senegal’s current head coach.
