Pape Thiaw unveils Senegal’s squad for the 2026 World Cup
Bara Sapoko Ndiaye has been called up for the first time, whilst there are some notable absentees.
28 players have been called up to represent Senegal at the World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer. The squad, unveiled on Thursday 21 May, includes some surprises and notable absentees. The young Bayern Munich striker, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, is the big surprise in Pape Thiaw’s squad. Meanwhile, Boulaye Dia, Habib Diallo, Nampalys Mendy, Cheikh Sabaly, Nobel Mendy and Abdou Diallo have not been called up.
Malang Sarr, whose name has been mentioned in recent days as a potential addition to the Lions of Teranga squad, has not been selected.
