Pape Thiaw has called up the FC Metz goalkeeper to temporarily replace Yehvann Diouf.

Pape Mamadou Sy has joined the Lions of Teranga squad to prepare for the 2026 World Cup. The Senegalese team has already gathered in Dakar, where they began their training camp before flying out. However, an absence from the list of players called up by Pape Thiaw has forced the Senegalese manager to revise his plans.

Yehvann Diouf has not yet responded to the call-up. And with good reason: his club, Nice, are playing in the Ligue 1 play-offs this Tuesday. That is why the Senegalese goalkeeper was not released in time. To temporarily fill this gap, Pape Thiaw has called up Pape Mamadou Sy. The FC Metz goalkeeper will temporarily take Yehvann Diouf’s place.

During the international break next June, Senegal will face the United States and Saudi Arabia before kicking off their World Cup campaign.
