Pachuca FC booked a crucial matchup with Egyptian champions Al Ahly in the 2024 Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday after defeating Botafogo 3-0 in the Copa Summit of the Americas.

After a goalless first half, CONCACAF's representative, Pachuca, broke the tie in the match, which was played at Qatar's famous Stadium 974. Moroccan forward Idrissi opened the scoring in the 50th minute, showcasing brilliant individual skill to beat two defenders and fire past goalkeeper Joao Victor. The goal was confirmed after VAR review.

Nelson Deossa, a substitute, scored a perfect low goal in the 66th minute to increase the advantage before launching a counterattack that resulted in the third goal. In the 80th minute, Salomón Rondón, a veteran of Venezuela, completed Deossa's cross with a spectacular volley.

Pachuca has won the Copa Summit, which means they will play against Al Ahly next. This game is part of the Intercontinental Cup's third stage and will happen on Saturday at 7:00 PM in Cairo (8:00 PM in Doha) at Stadium 974.

The team that wins this game will play against Real Madrid, the European champions, in the final on December 18. This is part of FIFA's new tournament format, which is becoming more popular.
