Pachuca Eyes Roberto Alvarado for Club World Cup

Roberto “Piojo” Alvarado could join Pachuca as a reinforcement for the FIFA Club World Cup, though the final decision is in the player’s hands. According to ESPN, the Tuzos have already reached out to Chivas to request Alvarado’s temporary release for the tournament. The Guadalajara club agreed, but there’s one major hurdle: the winger has also been called up by Mexico for the upcoming Gold Cup.
Alvarado is expected to report to the national team’s training camp on Monday at the CAR (Centro de Alto Rendimiento). He must decide whether to pursue international duty with El Tri or take the opportunity to compete on the global stage with Pachuca. The deadline for Mexico to submit its Gold Cup roster to CONCACAF is June 4.
For now, Alvarado remains with Chivas and has resumed training. A final choice is expected soon — one that balances national pride with the rare chance to shine in a FIFA tournament.
