Oumar Solet turns his back on France and moves closer to the Ivory Coast!

The Udinese defender, born in Melun, France, and a former member of various French youth teams, is said to have decided to represent his country of origin at international level.

Oumar Solet could soon be wearing the colours of Ivory Coast on the international stage. According to reports, the 26-year-old defender is expected to be called up by Ivory Coast manager Hervé Renard for the next training camp.

Oumar Solet could therefore be part of the Ivorian squad for the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the friendly against Cameroon scheduled for 3 October. Having worn the French shirt at youth level, Oumar Solet has reportedly chosen to continue his international career with the Ivorian national team.

Oumar Solet’s potential move to the Ivory Coast comes just a few days after the announcement, described as imminent, that Leny Yoro has also chosen to represent the Ivory Coast. If these reports are confirmed, the Elephants could count on two new defensive options.
