World No. 11 Jelena Ostapenko made a shocking exit from Roland Garros 2024 in the Round of 64.

Today, the Latvian tennis player lost in three sets to 21-year-old Danish player Clara Tauson, who is ranked only 72nd in the WTA rankings.

In the first set, the opponents exchanged breaks in the 11th and 12th games, with Tauson winning the tiebreak 7-4. However, in the second set, Ostapenko won 6-4 to level the match.

In the decisive set, Ostapenko started with a break, but eventually lost her advantage and was defeated 3-6.

With this victory, Tauson matched her career-best achievement, having also reached the Round of 32 last year.

Tauson's next opponent will be the renowned American, Sofia Kenin.
