Osimhen Tipped for Super Eagles Captaincy

Sports analyst Shina Oludare has called on the Nigeria Football Federation and head coach Eric Chelle to make Victor Osimhen the Super Eagles’ permanent captain as preparations continue for AFCON 2025. His comments came after Chelle named a 28-man squad featuring Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and several returning players. The list also included the debated recall of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho ahead of Maduka Okoye, while Igoh Ogbu and Paul Onuachu were brought back into the team.

Oludare urged fairness in selections, saying, “a Super Eagles spot isn’t anyone’s birthright… let’s give these new faces a fair chance.” He added that Osimhen is the clear leader, declaring, “Victor Osimhen should be named Nigeria’s next permanent captain.”
