Osimhen Names Bassey as Only Current Star in Dream 5-a-Side Team

Super Eagles vice-captain Victor Osimhen has revealed his ultimate Nigerian five-a-side team, naming just one current national teammate. The Galatasaray striker picked Fulham defender Calvin Bassey as his only selection from the present Super Eagles squad, describing him as Africa’s standout centre-back.

Both players impressed at AFCON, where Nigeria finished third and earned places in the Team of the Tournament. Explaining his choice, Osimhen said, “At the back, I will have Bassey, 100%… one of the best, or the best defender in Africa at the moment.”

With no goalkeeper allowed, Osimhen filled midfield with John Mikel Obi, Kanu Nwankwo and Austin JJ Okocha, while Odion Ighalo led the attack.
