Osimhen Eases Fears After Injury Scare
Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has reassured fans after picking up a hamstring concern while playing for Nigeria in their World Cup qualifier against DR Congo. The striker, who started the match for the Super Eagles, was forced off at half-time after feeling discomfort. His absence proved costly as Nigeria eventually lost on penalties, missing out on the World Cup for the second consecutive time.
Osimhen returned to Turkey immediately for medical checks, including an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury. Speaking on arrival, he offered a calm update to Turkish reporters, telling A Spor, "My condition is not very serious", adding through his comments that he is not worried and expects the issue to be minor.
Galatasaray will wait for the scan results before setting a return date, but the club is optimistic given Osimhen’s confidence. The Nigerian has been in strong form this season, playing a key role in the Istanbul side’s attack. He has already netted nine goals in 12 appearances across all competitions, underlining his importance as they continue their campaign.
