Orlando Pirates are exploring options to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The South African vice-champions have set their sights on an experienced striker from the Egyptian Premier League.
According to The South Africa, DR Congo national team forward Fiston Mayele is on the Buccaneers' shortlist. A source within the club claims that initial contact has already been made with the player's representatives, and while talks are still in the early stages, the transfer is very much a possibility.
Given Pirates' urgent need for an experienced striker and Mayele's impressive performances on the international stage, the club is seriously considering him as a key candidate to reinforce their attacking line. This season, the Pyramids forward has netted 16 goals in 36 club appearances.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Orlando are not planning to sell Mbekezeli Mbokazi to Egypt's Al Ahly. The club believes the young player deserves a new challenge and favors a move to a European side.
