The Orlando Pirates management appears to have finally settled on the club’s new head coach.

Details: After José Riveiro's departure to Al Hilal, the Pirates’ bosses launched an active search for a replacement for the Spanish specialist and have set their sights on Rulani Mokwena.

According to The South Africa, 38-year-old Mokwena, following his exit from Wydad, is not opposed to making a return to his home league as the head coach of Orlando Pirates.

"No one wants to talk about it openly right now, but it is believed that Rulani Mokwena is the coach set to replace José Riveiro. I can’t say that everything is finalized at this stage, but things are looking positive. What matters now is the interest in the coach, and Rulani Mokwena is certainly one of those," a source confirmed.

Mokwena previously led the Pirates from 2019 to 2020, but was unable to keep his position for long at that time.
