Or maybe Messi is not needed? Inter Miami wins again without their Argentine star
Today, as part of the regular MLS season, Inter Miami hosted the Chicago Fire. It should be noted that the hosts took to the field in new uniforms.
The main star of the Florida team, Lionel Messi, missed another match due to an injury sustained in the Copa America final. All other former Barcelona players were in the starting lineup.
Messi's absence did not prevent Inter Miami from securing a victory over their opponent. Matías Rojas opened the scoring at the very start. After the break, former player of several German clubs, Rafael Czichos, managed to equalize, but Jordi Alba restored the lead, sealing the final score.

Inter Miami secured their second consecutive victory, proving that the rout by Cincinnati was an anomaly. The team solidified their position at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a five-point cushion. Ahead, the team faces two Leagues Cup matches before returning to domestic league fixtures.
Notably, Messi has already missed seven matches for his team, during which Inter Miami has lost only once and won all the others. The last time the Argentine took the field for Inter Miami was in a home match against St. Louis City on June 2, which ended in a high-scoring draw (3-3). This remains the team's last draw to date.
